In all my previous MScDE courses, it has always been the big data / learning analytics element that has interested me the most. Critical Data and Education therefore seemed the obvious choice for this semester.
While I’m usually not working with data in my job, I’m soon embarking on a project looking into the learning analytics landscape of our and other institutions with the aim giving recommendations into what data should be collected and how data is going to be used. I’m hoping that this course will give me insights into data from both the learner and teacher perspective that I would otherwise not be able to get from available literature.
I’m slightly nervous about the data visualisations but I’m also looking forward to getting creative and thinking about data in a different way. I can’t wait to see what everyone else will produce!
